Dense Fog Blamed For Fatal Crash On NJ Turnpike In Mt. Holly

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (CBS) - A truck driver was injured and a passenger in his rig died in a fiery crash in the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike near exit 5 Wednesday morning.

The tractor-trailer struck a guard rail, overturned and caught fire after crashing into an overpass in heavy fog early. The incident happened near mile marker 45.5 in Burlington County.

The trucker was taken to Virtua Hospital in Mt. Holly for evaluation and treatment.

His unidentified passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
