PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – An elderly woman was struck and killed by a car in Northeast Philadelphia.

The accident happened at 12800 Knights Road just after 6 p.m.

A 74-year-old female was reportedly crossing the road when she was struck by a vehicle.

The woman was transported to Aria-Torresdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead around 6:45 p.m.

The vehicle that hit the victim did stop at the scene.
