PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Phillies signed right handed relief pitcher Chad Durbin to a one-year contract, MLB.COM’s Todd Zolecki reports today. The deal includes an team option for 2014, and is pending a physical.
The deal is worth $1.1 million, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports, plus a reported $350,000 in incentives.
Durbin, 35 years old, was with the Phillies from 2008 until 2010, posting a record of 11-7 with an ERA of 3.62. He was with the Indians in 2011, and then back in the NL East with the Braves in 2012.
The Phillies also announced the signing of infielder Yuniesky Betancourt to a minor league contract, including an invitation to major league Spring Training.
