CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (CBS) - Conshohocken Borough's planning commission has voted down a proposal by to build a Super Wawa with a gas station on the site of a vacant former auto dealership.
Residents, packed a local planning commission meeting, some supported Wawa's proposal to build the store along Fayette Street which runs thru the center of town. Those in favor argued the local firm has always supported community projects including little league baseball and emergency services.
Those opposed argued the land could be put to more suitable use. The borough council will ultimately have the final say and Wawa says it will continue their effort to convince council members of the benefits of a new wawa.
