Investigation Continues In Deadly Bucks County Home Invasion

By Brad Segall

HILLTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Authorities in Bucks County continue the manhunt for two men who they say murdered a man during a home invasion in Hilltown Township Friday morning, and they say some tip calls have already provided information that could be helpful in their investigation.

Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler says they're hoping someone may have seen something either near the house on Swartley Road or the Quakertown Shopping Plaza where the getaway car was found.

The black Lincoln pickup truck has been processed for clues and police are also poring over a dumpster that was near the vehicle. Heckler says they've also scoured the area for surveillance video that could help identify the suspects.

"We also have scoured any relevant areas for security cameras or the like," he says, "which might have captured any images of the Lincoln and people in it or around it or other relevant vehicles."

Police say two men burst into the house armed with handguns and tied up Joseph Canazaro, his girlfriend and his 12-year-old son. The woman and child managed to escape but Canazaro was found dead.  (Read related story)

Heckler says it appears this crime was not random.

"The individuals who perpetrated this crime we believe were focused on the decedent and his residence," he says, "and they committed their crime and went off wherever they went off."

Several guns were stolen from the house.

Police are also trying to determine how the suspects got to the secluded 10-acre property.
