PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – You sort of wonder how long the Tim Tebow to ________ team can continue to exist. Probably forever. It’s reared its ugly head recently, since Chip Kelly was announced as coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Without knowing too much about Kelly, and ignoring almost everything we know about Tebow, this makes some sense. Chip Kelly’s QBs appear to be that of the mobile variety, Tim Tebow is mobile, the Jets no longer want Tebow, therefore, Tebow to the Eagles.

Not so fast.

Aside from the fact that Kelly has marveled at the play of Nick Foles, and said on more than one occasion that he wants a “quarterback who can run, and not a running back who can pass,” Kelly has specifically said no to Tim Tebow.

“We are not a Tim Tebow type of quarterback team,” Kelly said in 2011. “I am not going to run my quarterback 20 times on power runs.”

Seems pretty clear.

Tim Tebow is fun to talk about, just like Chip Kelly. However, Tim Tebow’s inability to actually throw a football would seem to throw a wrench in that fun combination.
