MAYS LANDING, N.J. (CBS) – Three juveniles were arrested for allegedly starting fires in multiple trash cans around a former middle school in Mays Landing Saturday night.
Police say officers responded to the Athletic Fields at Underhill Park in Mays Landing for a fire around 11:20 p.m.
According to authorities, officials found two trash cans that had been set on fire near a field house, another on the front steps of former Duberson Middle School on Farragut Ave and a dumpster at the same location. All fires were extinguished before spreading outside of their containers, says police.
While on the scene, officers saw three people running away. They suspects, ages 14, 14 and 16, were arrested and charged with arson and criminal mischief and released to their parents.
