PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police are hunting for a gunman who sprayed several homes with bullets from a playground in the Parkside neighborhood of West Philadelphia, wounding a man who was asleep in his bed inside his home.
Police have collected numerous bullet shells, which they say indicate the bullets came from an AK-47 rifle.
Investigators say several bullets penetrated the window of a home near 52nd and Euclid Streets just after 2 a.m. The victim, who was asleep in his second floor bedroom, was shot three times.
The victim is listed in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. So far, police have no suspects.
