Officials Search For Police Impersonator In Atlantic County

ABSECON, N.J. (CBS) – Police in Atlantic County are searching for a police impersonator who conducted a vehicle stop.

The incident occurred on Absecon Boulevard and Turner Avenue on January 7th around 10:45 p.m.

According to police, the suspect stopped a 24-year-old female of Brigantine wearing a uniform and told the victim he was working detail in the area and asked to search her car.

Police say the victim allowed the suspect to search her car, not realizing he was posing as a police officer.

The suspect has been described as a six-foot, white male with a skinny build. He has blonde hair, brown eyes, clean shaven and was wearing a navy blue shirt that looked like a police officer’s uniform.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the sketch to call Absecon Police Department at 609-641-0667.
