So How Long Do People Stick To That Resolution To Work Out?

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It's January and many folks are starting off the year by heading to the gym, but will they stick with it?

Some of the regular gym-goers at Philadelphia Sports Clubs say they're used to the influx of people here at the gym in January.

"The first like month after New Years it's jammed in here. You can't get a machine to do cardio on."

But those who workout here year round say it's all part of the regular cycle of the gym.

"Probably by the beginning of February or mid-February, it's back to how it normally is."

Reporter: "What do you think about all these New Years resolutioners on your turf?"

"Well, give them a couple of months at the most and the gym will be empty again!"

This woman has been working out here for the past nine years.

Reporter: "What do you want to say to those New Year's resolutioners?"

"Keep on it! Don't drop off! I don't care if you are going to be using my machine, it's better to be healthy!"

Kuznits: "That's very giving of you."

"Yeah, no problem."
