PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Today is 111th day of the NHL lockout. There has been hope the last few days as the league and the NHLPA have exchanged proposals and counter proposals, however there is still no agreement.
The lack of such an agreement has the entire season in jeopardy. NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman has said that they need a deal in place next week so that a 48-game schedule would be able to begin on January 19th.
So far the NHL has officially canceled all games through January 14th, that means more than 600 match-ups have gone by the wayside.
KYW’s Matt Leon spoke with Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer about the current state of the labor talks, and what fans can expect from here on out.
