PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Chiefs and Andy Reid are just about there.
After firing general manager Scott Pioli, the Chiefs have agreed in principle to a deal with Andy Reid to make him their new head coach, reports 94WIP’s Howard Eskin.
Eskin reports that the Chiefs and Reid are still working out some smaller details, but that should be completed shortly. Eskin reports that Reid has asked Doug Pederson and Juan Castillo to join his staff in Kansas City, and Duce Staley will not be joining Reid’s new staff.
The Chiefs interviewed Reid in Philadelphia on Wednesday, and spoke for upwards of nine hours to the former Eagles head coach.
