PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – One person is dead and at least one other person is hospitalized after an accident in West Philadelphia on Sunday night.

The crash occurred shortly before 11 p.m.  Police say a car struck several other vehicles before crashing at the intersection of 41st Street and Haverford Avenue in the Belmont section of the city.

One male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A second male victim, who was ejected from the vehicle, was transported to the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania in critical condition.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
