Customer Chases, Photographs Delaware Rite Aid Robber

NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – Police say a customer who was in a Rite Aid as it was being robbed helped to find the robbery suspect.

The incident occurred at the Rite Aid located on the 1600 block of Capitol Trail around 4:02 p.m. on Friday.

According to police, Lindsey L. Dembkowski, 29, entered the store with a cloth covering her face and a hood pulled over her head and demanded money from the cashier after implying that she was armed.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, Dembkowski fled the store, says police.

Authorities report that a 44-year-old female customer witnessed Dembkowski run from the store and chased after her when learning that the store had been robbed.

The customer began taking pictures of the black Dodge Durango that Dembkowski entered and called 911, says officials.

Allegedly, Dembkowski then confronted the customer, trying to give her some of the stolen cash, then, after her refusal of the money, attempted to steal the customer's phone.

Police say the customer was able to hold onto her phone and Dembkowski got back into her car and left the scene.

Dembkowski was arrested at her house and charged with first degree robbery, second degree attempted robbery and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony. She was released on $27,500 unsecured bond.
