Train Derailment Results In Evacuation In Sussex County, Del.

BRIDGEVILLE, Del. (CBS) – Five cars of a Norfolk Southern train have derailed just south of Bridgeville, Delaware.

The cars derailed near Wilson Farm Road and Railroad Avenue around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities say four of the cars were carrying gravel and the other is a 33,300 gallon propane tanker. They also say the tanker has minor damage but isn't leaking.

While no injuries have been reported, residents nearby have been told to shelter in place. The immediate area was also been evacuated, and there are about seven people sheltered at the fire station.
