Lehigh County High School Closed Friday After Bomb Threat

EMMAUS, Pa. (AP) — A high school in eastern Pennsylvania will be closed Friday after officials received a bomb threat.

Emmaus High School made the announcement in an automated call to parents on Thursday. The school also announced the closure on its website. All other buildings in the East Penn School District will remain open.

School officials say law enforcement officials will be searching and sweeping the building Friday. Events at the school were also canceled or moved on Thursday afternoon and evening. Police say they don't have any suspects.

Emmaus is about 40 miles north of Philadelphia.

The threat comes nearly a week after the shootings that left 20 children and six adults dead at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn.
