PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A new iPhone app turns a short message into a fancy status update or text message.

In social media, images are becoming more and more important, and users are relying less on words to express themselves. Philly native Alex Khorram, the creator of the app Whims is offering something different.

“Its a mobile based app that allows you to create messages, be creative with these messages and you post them to the network,” says Khorram. “You can follow people , you can like their whims, you can share their whims on whims itself obviously but also you can transports them too post them to Facebook or twitter but also soon to be via texting as well.”

It also features pre-made style sheets like Willy Wonka, Barack Obama, James Bond, and of course, the Eagles.
