Christmas Comes Early For Children At 19th Annual Rubye's Kids Holiday Party

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Christmas came early for several hundred children this weekend at the 19th annual Rubye's Kids Holiday Party at Girard College.
"We provide a day of joy filled with all kinds of activities and a gift for 500 needs children," says Rubye's Kids president Roz Weiss. "We've been told that bringing the children to this event is like bringing them to Disneyland."
She says it takes about 300 volunteers to pull off the party. Among them was 15-year-old Nick Kozankywyzz. He collected presents for Rubye's Kids as part of his Eagle Scout project:
"I collected almost 200 toys," Kozankywyzz, "and about 267 dollars at my church."
Those who participated seemed to have a great time.
"We're dancing, we do stuff like make cupcakes!"
"Everyone's here and I get to stay here with my friends!"
