Police: Man Sexually Assaults Woman At Gunpoint In Kensington

By Molly Daly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia Police say a young woman who'd been stranded at a gas station in Kensington last week was befriended by a stranger who later threatened and sexually assaulted her.

It happened around 11 a.m. last Thursday. According to police, the suspect, who called himself Mike, took the 21-year-old victim to an abandoned house in the 3000 block of North Ormes Street. Once inside, authorities say he threatened her with a black handgun and sexually assaulted her. The victim made her escape when he fell asleep.

The suspect is described as white, around 34-years-old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a thin build and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a light-colored coat, gray sweatpants, black t-shirt, and a light gray hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS (215-686-8477).
