WYNNEWOOD, Pa. (CBS) – The $587.5 million Powerball jackpot-winners may not from our area but that does not mean there weren’t any big winners. There were three $1 million tickets sold in Pennsylvania, one of them at a gas station in Montgomery County.

It was around 10 a.m. Thursday at the Sunoco at 330 East Lancaster Ave in Wynnewood when manager Khurram Aijaz answered a call. “A lottery official called and said, “Well, congratulations! You are one of the three who sold the million dollar tickets.'”

Aijaz says within a half-hour, the man who purchased that million dollar ticket, a store regular, came in.

“He’s a pretty calm guy all of the time,” Aijaz said, describing his winning customer. “But you could see from his expression that he was very excited.”

Aijaz says he bought the tickets for his office pool of 10 people. “He bought some for himself, and then he took out another set of money and said, ‘that’s for the group.'”

“I’m happy for them. God bless them,” Aijaz said. He said this was the biggest prize won at his store. The previous high was for a $640,000 Cash 5 ticket.

In this case, the Powerball ticket matched the five white balls but not the red powerball. The two others were purchased in Altoona, Blair County and Cabot, Butler County. Each retailer will get a $5,000 bonus for selling the tickets.

New Jersey lottery officials also announced that there were eight $1 million tickets sold throughout the state including one at Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City.
