PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A house fire in Kensington has left one person dead and another hospitalized with severe burns Monday morning.
The fire happened just before 10 a.m. along the 3400 block of Joyce Street, near Tioga Street.
Fire officials arrived on scene to find heavy flames coming from the first floor of the two-story home.
One man was killed as a result of the blaze. A second male victim was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was being treated for third-degree burns.
Fire officials suspect the cause of the fire was faulty wiring, perhaps wiring connected to appliances, and possibly space heaters being used to heat the home.
