Several Cars Destroyed In Montgomery County Garage Fire

WHITEMARSH TOWNSHIP, Pa (CBS) -- A two-alarm fire ripped through a garage in Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County on Sunday, destroying three cars.

The fire happened around 3:15 p.m. along the 300 block of Stenton Avenue.

Fire officials say the blaze began in the garage and then spread to a guest house. Three cars inside the garage were destroyed, but no injuries were reported.

"Crews (went) inside to the guest house and took care of the extension and stopped it before it destroyed most of the guest house," says Whitemarsh Township Fire Marshall Scott Lynch. "The main house is still very much livable. None of the occupants were home at the time of the fire."

Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control at about 4:30 p.m.

Authorities were investigating the cause of the fire.
