Police Officer Responding To Emergency Injured In Crash In Southwest Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A police officer was rushed to an area hospital Wednesday night after his cruiser collided with another car in Southwest Philadelphia.

According to investigators, the officer, who was responding to an emergency, was going west on Lindbergh Boulevard and a mini-van was going south on 84th Street when they crashed at the intersection at about 9:30 p.m.

Authorities say both the officer and the other driver complained of pain and were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Both are in stable condition.
