PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - An 11-year-old is in stable condition with a leg injury Wednesday night after he was struck by a driver in the city’s Frankford neighborhood, according to police.
It happened near Jackson and Granite streets a little before 8 p.m. Police say the driver, who was in a white Chevrolet minivan, possibly a Venture, did not stop at the scene.
The victim was playing football with friends while his family was right around the corner.
“It’s horrible, it’s a shame. He should have some consideration…What if it was his child?” said the victim’s aunt, Chakea Johnson.
The child was rushed to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.
The search for the suspect is underway.
