Police Search For Clues In Somerton Sexual Assault

By Michelle Durham

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit investigators are searching for the man they say sexually assaulted a woman in the city’s Somerton section late Saturday night.

Police say the 38-year-old woman was coming out of her home at 11:50 p.m. in the 10 thousand block of Jeanes Street, near Red Lion and Verree Roads when a man grabbed her, dragged her to an alley across the street from her home and assaulted her.

The woman says her attacker wore a hoodie so she could not give police a description.

Anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual is asked to call the special victims unit at 215-685-3251.
