BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) – Federal agents raided two popular diners in Bensalem, Bucks County at lunch-hour while frustrated and locked-out customers found other places to dine.
Only CBS 3 cameras were there as agents from the IRS Criminal Investigation Division removed boxes of papers, documents and records from the Club House Diner and the Great American Diner, located a few blocks apart along Street Road.
During a three-hour search of both diners, the federal agents also removed hard drives and computer discs but made no arrests. An IRS spokesman declined comment on what the agents were seeking or where the investigation was heading.
A man who identified himself as the owner of both diners told CBS 3 off-camera that he had no idea why agents were searching his diners and that both diners are now reopened.
