MT. LAUREL, N.J. (CBS) - Police are investigating a fatal accident on the NJ Turnpike in Burlington County Friday night.

The accident happened a little before 8 p.m. on the southbound lanes of the turnpike, north of Exit 4 in Mt. Laurel.

Police say one person was killed in the crash. According to police, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it went off the roadway, landing in a ditch. The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
