1 Hospitalized After Home Invasion In Southwest Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred Friday morning in Southwest Philadelphia.

According to police, a female occupant was met by two males after answering a knock at the door.

Police say the suspects entered the house, located on the 1400 block of South 53rd Street, and suspect forced the female into the basement while the second suspect went upstairs.

Authorities report that a shot was heard and both suspects ran out the front door of the house.

The female victim's husband, 59, was shot in the left calf once and taken to Hahnemann University Hospital in an unknown condition, but officials say the injuries are non-life threatening.

No arrests have been made at this time.
