Bucks County Philanthropists Serve Turkey Dinner To Vets, Unemployed On Saturday

BRISTOL, Pa. (CBS) - This Saturday, November 17th, a Bucks County Philanthropist will mark the 27th year giving out hundreds of Thanksgiving dinners for anyone out of work, receiving disability payments, or an Iraq or Afghanistan War Vet. Active servicemen and women are also welcome.

The Gene and Marlene Epstein Humanitarian Fund will be giving out 300 meals, complete with turkey, stuffing, vegetables and desserts. The giveaway takes place at Calvary Baptist Church on Green Lane in Bristol on a first come, first served basis.

Gene Epstein says their will also be a special gift for Armed Service personnel and their families.

"We have a group of retired service guys, who will interview them and they have the authorization to write out checks. And for the first fifty, we expect to be able to hand out checks."

Anyone planning on going should get there early and must bring identification proving they fit the criteria. The giveaway runs from 2-4pm at Calvary Baptist Church 250 Green Lane in Bristol, Bucks County.
