PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Authorities in Camden County say a police officer shot a man who tried to flee during a car stop early Saturday morning.
It was around 3 a.m. when Pennsauken police stopped a car at 27th and Marlton Pike. Police say 25-year-old Aaron McNeil of Camden was sitting in the front passenger seat but got out of the car and fled.
One of the officers followed McNeil. Police say McNeil showed a handgun and the officer fired at him, striking him in the right calf.
McNeil was treated and released from the hospital and taken into police custody. He’s facing aggravated assault and weapons charges.
