PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – This sleepy little tavern — hidden from the crowds thronging to the Barnes Museum or shopping at Whole Foods — is the latest creation by Chef Townsend Wentz and globe-trotting sommelier/GM Lauren Harris.

One thing is for sure: this duo is dedicated to reinventing the tavern experience when it comes to the latest trends in wine, beer and food.

Lauren Harris (photo) has rebuilt McCrossen’s beverage programs with exceptional wines, great beers, and fun and informative wine programs. She says they thrive to be bold.

The tavern’s ambiance is perfect — cozy and romantic — whether you’re drinking or dining. It’s ensconced in dark-wood and leather, with candles warming the friendly faces of neighbors and tourists.
