Nestle Voluntarily Recalling Nesquik

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Nestle USA announced Thursday that it was voluntarily recalling some of its Newsquik chocolate powder due to a possible risk of salmonella exposure.

The company said it will be recalling 10.9, 21.8 and 40.7 once canisters of Nesquik that were sold across the county in early October and have an expiration date of October 2014.

Nestle says the recall comes after an ingredient supplier recalled some of their calcium carbonate used in Nesquik because of salmonella contamination.

There have not been any reports of illnesses associated with Nesquik.
