PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Two more deaths in Pennsylvania have been attributed to the storm that struck the East Coast earlier this week.
The state Health Department said Friday that two elderly women in Wayne County, ages 82 and 88, are confirmed to have died because of the storm Sandy. No details were immediately available.
That brings the number of deaths in Pennsylvania to 14.
More than two-thirds of the 1.2 million Pennsylvania utility customers who lost power were back on the grid, but more than 325,000 customers were still without power by midmorning Friday.
In the Philadelphia area, Peco still had 140,000 outages but hoped to have 90 percent back by midnight Friday. The utility said some remote portions of Montgomery and Bucks counties might not have service restored until early next week.
