Code Blue Cold Weather Declaration Made In Montgomery County

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) – A "Code Blue" cold weather emergency has been declared in Montgomery County due to the large number residents without power due to superstorm Sandy.

Officials say due to power outages and expected overnight temperatures to be in the 20's, a Code Blue emergency declaration was made.

The Code Blue will begin Saturday, Nov. 3rd at 12 p.m. and last until Monday, Nov. 5th at 12 p.m.

This declaration is made when the temperature and wind chill is anticipated to be 20 degrees Fahrenheit or less and conditions pose a serious threat to people without shelter.
