Philadelphia Man Facing Charges For Allegedly Luring Teen And Pimping Her Out On Craigslist

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A 21-year-old Philadelphia man is facing charges of human trafficking, rape and prostitution after allegedly luring a teenage girl to Minnesota with the purpose of prostituting her.

Twenty-one-year-old Samuel Ferraro was arrested earlier this October after supposedly convincing a 17-year-old Philadelphia girl to accompany him to Minnesota with promises that he would take care of her and help her find a job.

Instead, investigators say Ferraro took semi-nude photos of her and posted her for sale on Craigslist. He prostituted her out to various men for more than a week and forced her to give him the money. He also repeatedly forced her to have sex with him, telling her that if she didn't comply he would put her on the streets of Philadelphia, where she would be killed.

Ferraro was arrested after the girl's parents worked with authorities to locate her. The teen was returned to the home of her parents.

Ferraro is currently being held without bail on charges of Human Trafficking, Corrupting the Morals of a Minor, Promoting Prostitution of a Minor, Criminal Coercion, Terroristic Threats, RAPE, Involuntary Deviant Sexual Intercourse, Sexual Assault, Aggravated Indecent Assault, and Indecent Assault charges this morning at a preliminary hearing in B Court. He was already on probation for multiple counts of theft for running an apartment rental scam on Craigslist.

Investigators are concerned there may be more victims, and anyone with information on Ferraro should contact the District Attorney's Office at 215-686-5874.
