CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) – A house fire that broke out around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning threatened to spread to other homes.

The fire prompted evacuation of neighboring homes and escalated to 2-alarms for added manpower and equipment.

The scene of the fire was a 2-story wood framed home in the 100-block of 23rd Street in the city of Camden.

There were no reports of injuries.

Evacuated persons were temporarily sheltered inside a New Jersey transit bus that was requested by fire officials until the arrival of the Red Cross.
