CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) – The Cantabile Choir at Interboro High School had the chance to share the stage with the rock group “Foreigner” at Harrah’s Chester Saturday night.
It was the first time the members of the High School’s Choir performed in front of such a large audience. As you might imagine, butterflies were definitely churning in their stomachs.
“I’m still kind of in shock, but I’m excited,” Samantha O’Brien said.
“I’ve done a lot of performing arts all my life, but nothing like this,” Jayen Karna added.
The Choir performed the band’s hit “I wanna know what love is,” which Choir Teacher Marsha Bowe says took some hard work to prepare for.
“We studied a little bit about themselves, the band members,” she said. “We listened to the CD, went through the lyrics and choreography, which the kids call ‘Choral-ography’. We rehearsed that a couple of times to get prepared throughout the past three weeks or so.”
The band and the Grammy Foundation will also provide a donation to help fund the school’s music program.
