PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – At the press conference announcing the firing of Juan Castillo, Andy Reid was non-committal when asked about the future of other coaches and his starting quarterback. One coach can breathe easier, and so can Michael Vick; for now.
According to a report from 94WIP and Comcast Sportsnet’s Reuben Frank, Michael Vick will remain starting quarterback, and Marty Mornhinweg will remain offensive coordinator, at least until the team’s next game. The Eagles have a bye this week, and return to action on October 28th against the unbeaten Atlanta Falcons.
Castillo’s defense, though not blameless, has outperformed Vick and Mornhinweg’s offense this season. The Eagles are 31st in the NFL in points scored, and Vick is ranked 26th out of 33 qualifying quarterbacks in QB rating.
