Water Department: 3rd And Walnut To Remain Closed For Repairs To Old City Water Main

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia Water Department says work to fix a water main break in Old City this past weekend will last for quite some time.
In a statement, the water department says repair of the water main and restoration of the intersection are top priorities, but due to the location of the main break and the size of the excavation necessary, the intersection of Third and Walnut Streets cannot be opened to traffic until all work in the area has been completed.
Walnut Street will be shut down from 2nd to 4th streets, and 3rd street will remain closed from Locust to Chestnut Streets.
The Water Department adds that anyone with a damaged vehicle, or property who has not spoken with a representative yet should contact customer service at 215-685-9652.
