PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – New Jersey residents who want to vote in the November 6th presidential election must be registered by the end of today.
New Jersey League of Women Voters President Toni Zimmer says registration has been going well.
“Extremely busy, a lot of colleges have been having registration jobs so people are registering.”
But she says there are always those who put it off until the last minute. ”Everybody’s busy, so it happens.”
She just wants to make sure they don’t miss the deadline altogether so she recommends downloading a form (you can find them a number of websites, including the League’s).
Then, “as long as you get it to the post office before the post office closes and they can postmark it for you, you’re in fine shape.”
But there are some other options. “The other thing you can do is you can walk in to a county elections office.” They’re open until 9 p.m. and Motor Vehicle and Human Services offices will also be signing up voters all day.
