Fans React To Firing Of Defense Coordinator Juan Castillo

By Jericka Duncan

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The firing of defensive coordinator Juan Castillo came as a surprise to many fans we spoke to Tuesday.

"This is blowing me away right now," said Eagles fan Shawn Bush.

Bush was one of many people this morning stunned by the move.

"I think he was good," said Eagles fan Derek Stukes. "It wasn't his fault," he added referring to Castillo's promotion last year to defensive coordinator after coaching the offensive line for more than a decade.

"I thought Andy Reid would be very loyal to him, but it's time for a change and it is surprising," commented Paul Marion.

Fans continued to weigh in on 94WIP's Mike and Ike show.

"If I'm Juan Castillo, I wouldn't even shake Andy Reid's hand," said one caller.

Former Eagle Ike Reese says he agrees with the move but wishes the Eagles would have kept Castillo in a different capacity.

For others Eagles fan, the issue is the head coach.

"All I know is that Andy Reid should be fired," said Teresa Maldanado.

"I want Andy Reid gone, should have been gone a long time ago," said Al Picozzi.

The Eagles are off this weekend. They take on the Atlanta Falcons at home on October 28th.
