Pet Supply Store Takes Election Smear Campaign To The Dogs

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An Old City pet store is holding a unique election straw poll.

BONeJOUR Pet Supply is promoting a "smear campaign" against the presidential election candidates.

"So, we have two types of doggie poop bags: Obama and Romney. So, people buy them to put their dog poop in it," says Jessica Rouche, a cashier at the Old City pet store.

So who's winning?

Her collegue Jen Merkel, a groomer at the store, announces the results thus far: "Romney got smeared. Put it that way! We're all out of bags for him!"

She says don't worry, they'll most likely get more dog bags in soon.

"People think it's an awesome idea; and they're actually telling each other about it. As soon as one person leaves and shows somebody, literally I had like three or four groups of people walk in within an hour!"

Folks are unofficially casting their votes with their purchases and getting a good laugh.

"So it's just something funny and goofy for the neighborhood."
