2 Injured In Southwest Philadelphia Shooting

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Southwest Philadelphia Thursday afternoon.

According to police, two male suspects fired shots at a man while he was working on a car at about 2:54 p.m. on 54th Street and Paschall Avenue.

Police say the suspects were standing on Yewdall Street as they shot at the victim.

Authorities report that the male victim, who is in his 30's, was shot about 10 times. He was transported to Hahnemann University Hospital by police and placed in critical condition.

A second victim, 39, was also transported to Hahnemann Hospital by a private vehicle with a gunshot to his right ankle. He was placed in stable condition. Police are unsure how this victim was involved in the incident.

The names of the victims were not immediately released.

The first suspect has been described as wearing a red hooded sweatshirt. Police say he fled the scene in a 2010 or 2011 gray Acura SUV going eastbound on Passyunk Avenue. No description was given for the second suspect.

No arrests have been made; the investigation in ongoing.
