PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The excitement and positive vibes in Sixers land have been flowing over the last couple of months, and rightly so. The team added shooters, kept key young pieces, and traded for the second best center in the NBA, Andrew Bynum. Still, oddsmakers say they’re not a contender to win it all this season.
Bovada, an off-shore gambling site, sets the Sixers at 50-1 to win the NBA Championship in 2012-13, good for 13th overall. The Heat are the favorites at 11-5, and the longest shot are the Charlotte Bobcats at 500-1. Fellow Atlantic Division rivals the New York Knicks are 35-1 to win it all, the revamped Brooklyn Nets are 30-1, and the Boston Celtics are 18-1.
The Sixers are 18-1 to win the Eastern Conference, where the Heat are the favorites at 5-8.
The over/under for Sixers wins this season is 46.5.
