Police Investigate Armed Robbery In New Castle

NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS) – Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in New Castle, Delaware Friday evening.

According to police, a 41-year-old man and 37-year-old woman were approached by four male suspects while sitting in their car in the Basin Road Plaza parking lot at about 9:45 p.m.

Police say the four suspects demanded money and prescription pills, then punched and choked the male victim after he exited the car. One of the suspects then hit the male victim in the face with a gun.

Authorities report that the four suspects fled on foot after rummaging through the male victim's pockets and taking prescription pills and a wallet with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The male victim was treated for minor injuries; the female victim was not hurt.

The suspects have been described as black males between 5'9" and 6'0" tall.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 ext. 6.
