By Jim Donovan: I wanted to let everyone know about a free event that is coming up that may be of interest to those of you who are caring for a child, young adult, or parent with special needs.
On Saturday, October 13th, Devereux, a leading nonprofit behavioral health organization that supports many of the most underserved and vulnerable members of our communities is holding a FREE day-long conference – Overcoming the Odds: Promoting Resilience for Families with Special Needs.
Judith Warner, New York Times best-selling author of We’ve Got Issues: Children and Parents in the Age of Medication is the featured speaker. In addition Devereux staff will be able to assist attendees with
•appropriate school placement
•managing parents’ and siblings’ needs
•planning for the future
•legal and other issues
Again, the date is Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
