PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Andrew Bynum will be held out of action for three weeks as a precaution measure to maximize effect of the Orthokine therapy he received on his knees earlier this month, the team announced today.

From the Sixers:

Bynum was examined by Dr. Jack McPhilemy of Main Line Health and was diagnosed with a bone bruise of the medial femoral chondyle of his right knee. During the aforementioned time frame, Bynum will continue participate in low impact conditioning drills.

Training camp for the Sixers starts on Tuesday, and their first preseason game is on October 11th in Orlando. 21 days for Bynum would mean Bynum would only be able to play in the team’s preseason finale against the Knicks in Syracuse. The team opens the regular season on October 31st against Denver.

You can read more about the treatment Bynum received HERE.
