NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – The Newark Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Friday evening in Newark, Delaware that left one woman in critical condition.

According to authorities officers responded to the 200 block of Witherspoon Lane at about 9:30 p.m. where the victim was found with a single gunshot wound to the face.

The victim was treated by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the hospital.

Police report that an argument was heard between the victim and a male before the shooting. Police believe the victim knows the suspect.
