POTTSTOWN, Pa. (CBS) – Firefighters were dispatched Saturday night to an apartment building fire in Pottstown, Pa., according to authorities.
Everyone was reportedly evacuated from the apartment building located on York Street.
Authorities say one person was taken to the hospital and 26 residents were displaced. Most of them had a place to stay for the night. The Red Cross says they will provide lodging to those that didn’t have a place to go and follow up with all residents on Monday to ensure they have food, clothes and lodging.
Firefighters were dispatched just before 8:00 p.m. when heavy smoke was reportedly coming from the 2nd and 3rd floors of the four-story building. They had the two-alarm fire under control around 8:30 p.m.
