1 Victim Dead After Fatal Hit-And-Run In Newark, Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – Police say that 52-year-old Marie Eldreth, who was struck by a vehicle Tuesday, has died.

Eldreth and Judith Johnson, 67, were struck from behind by a black Geo Tracker-type SUV while walking to work on Corporate Boulevard in Newark, Delaware at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. (see related story)

Eldreth was admitted to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where she was put on life support. Her daughter, Rebecca Eldreth, was contact after the accident. (see related story)

Eldreth was pronounced dead late Friday evening.

The Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation of the accident.
